Bio: Lucy von Sturmer
Lucy cut her communications-teeth in the world of journalism, television and PR in New Zealand. Seven years ago, she moved to The Netherlands and joined global initiative Making All Voices Count, where she worked for Dutch NGO Hivos as Global Communications Manager, followed by a role as Head of Communications at The ZDHC Foundation; a multi-stakeholder initiative driving forward green chemistry in the textile and fashion supply chain.
Wanting to expand her reach, she switched from NGOs to the world of advertising and held the position of Global PR Manager for MediaMonks, where she was brought on to create a global thought leadership strategy for the company to take forward.
In 2017, Lucy founded purpose-driven thought leadership agency The Humblebrag to work alongside creative agencies, NGOs and purpose-driven startups to amplify the voices of change-makers and creative innovators worldwide.
With a firm commitment to business as a force for good, championing bold and brave voices, Lucy has worked with, and continues to represent, a range of inspiring clients including: NGO Solidaridad, The ZDHC Foundation, Fronteer Strategy Firm, Creative Agency HarrimanSteel, The Circle Economy, The Sustainable Apparel Coalition, Fashion for Good.
As well as writing for her own platform, she regularly shares her views in publications such as The Huffington Post, The Drum, Sustainable Brands and Mumbrella. In her spare time, when she’s not surfing, Lucy curates a 350+ group of entrepreneurs in Amsterdam called The Amsterdam Creative Entrepreneurs (ACE) Collective in which she host dinners, events, and curate learning experiences.
